women’s history month is coming to an end. we have been hearing all this talk from sheryl sandberg about girls/women making sure we are sitting ‘at the table’ with men. beyonce telling others to bow down!

i LOVE water. i love the beach, i love sailing, i love drinking water!
everything about water makes we feel at peace and go with the flow of life.
imagine if you didn’t have easy access to water to bathe, drink or grow food…
because soo many people throughout the world don’t have the luxury of access to water, the United Nations established March 22nd as world water day.

QUEENS CAMP FOR LEADERSHIP AND EXCELLENCE
In the summer of 2011, Beverly Bond, the Founder and Executive Director of BLACK GIRLS ROCK!, launched the inaugural BLACK GIRLS ROCK! QUEENS CAMP FOR LEADERSHIP & EXCELLENCE in response to the overwhelming demand to expand our youth mentoring programs across the globe.
The BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Queens Camp is now in its third year and we are looking forward to welcoming 30 new dynamic young women from diverse economic, social and geographical backgrounds. Past participants have come from various cities around the US as well as countries across the world including: South Africa, Japan, Liberia and Jamaica. Through a series of dynamic programs and art workshops BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Queens Camp encourages strong life skills, cultural investigation, critical thinking, positive identity development and active leadership for young women of color.
