this time we are honoring Atena Farghadani. she is a 28-year-old Iranian artist who was recently sentenced to almost 13 years in prison for drawing a cartoon.   Atena has just two weeks to make an appeal so she can be released.

Michael Cavna, comic journalist for The Washington Post, started the #Draw4Atena campaign to ask artists around the world to bring awareness to her case.  i learned about it from one of my favorite website’s zenpencils.com which created the below amazing comic in her honor.
