this weekend many of us will be eating good and laughing with friends and fam. while you’re chillaxin’ remember that when the holiday is over we have lots of work to do. not your average day’s work but the hard time we as a country have to put in to keep it as cool as it is and even better.
everyone watched the last couple of weeks as lots of wonderful civil rights have been granted around the country. youth played a huge role in getting USA to move forward. but you can’t stop here. continue to share your voice, volunteer in your hood, VOTE and be the leaders that you know will keep American beautiful…

i saw selma last week. it has taken me a minute to absorb everything in the film. first things first; it is a must see! go if you haven’t, run and check it out today!
the thing i am left with most is that the legends that we look up to like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., were people just like us. the difference was they had a vision and took action. that’s it.
so many women and girls were part of that history because they listened to their hearts and were moved.
let Dr. King holiday be a reminder to us all that we have dreams in our hearts that we must act on.

Ladies, make sure to go out and vote today!!! Let’s not forget that less than 100 years ago we did not have the right to vote! Women became allowed to vote in the United States in 1920! So many fought hard for us to participate in our country’s treasured democracy!!
