i don’t celebrate valentine’s day. never have & likely never will. don’t take me for a cupid hater. i’m an official romantic at heart. give me a sappy lifetime movie and i’m in love. what i’m not down with is a designated day.
why not just go along to get along? you say….
love deserves better. love is everything and knows no boundaries. it cannot be contained and confined to 24 hours. heart shaped chocolates can’t replace the taste of unconditional bonds.
now more than ever love needs to rise to its rightful place; as our being.
love is not a day, it’s who you, me, we are…
let’s strive to love everyday, all day.

- Comments Off on Vlog Time: Help! My parents won’t allow me to date.
check out the next installment of my three part series on LOVE!
this vlog is in response to a question from a viewer who is upset that her parents won’t allow her to date.
check out what i tell her:
not to rain on everyone’s parade but i really don’t like valentine’s day
it’s soo fake…
i remember when i was in high school i never had a valentine.
i would see everyone walking around with heart shaped balloons, candy and cute teddy bears
and i would have nothing…
so depressing.
years have gone by and i have the love of my life
but still no valentine
why?
because love is so much more than one ‘blown out of proportion’ day
it’s about every day; how you treat one another and how you grow together
i got soo hot about the valentine hype, i wrote my next video blog about it
my three part series on Love & Relationships
Check out the first installment

- Comments Off on Sage’s Rage: Is Reality TV ruining our culture?
i admit to watching reality tv. i have my favorites (project runway, the voice). some shows i have watched and knew i shouldn’t be. all the fighting, the drama; you get sucked in and then you keep watching!
in the back of our minds, we know it’s no good for us. it’s like fast food for the brain, no good for our bodies! i know you agree, i hear it all the time. but have we really thought about what reality tv is doing to our culture, especially our youth?
i’m so thrilled that TruthinReality.org is taking this on as a mission. this organization started by sil lai abrams (NABJ award-winning writer, domestic violence awareness activist, relationship expert for EBONY.com) is blazing a new trail and we desperately need it!
if you are in NYC on october 30th, ioin me and an amazing panel as we discuss reality TV, music videos and it’s impact on dating/relationships. see below for details:
